Google is penalizing some big-name publications and blogs, including the Washington Post, Forbes, and Engadget. Over two dozen have seen their toolbar PageRank drop by a factor of 2 to 4 overnight.

Three of my sites have just had their PR changed. One went from 0 to 2, another from 0 to 3, but another dropped from 3 to 2.

Strange things. I would not care too much about the PR though

No, you are right clifton. I`d prefer my sites to be seen by visitors over high PRs, though I suppose PRs are a partial sign of how `others` view you.

Interestingly perhaps, on the site which dropped one level on its homepage, I noticed that a number of sub pages now have a PR, which they didn`t before.

Actually if you want to sell the site or sell ads on it, the PR still matters, but I hope more people realize that other things are more important. It would be nice if some day some service can show traffic to sites, just like Alexa, but in more reliable way

There was a big `correction` with `youtube` apparently. It was reported that they were showing a PR3 which seemed ludicrous. I looked yesterday and it had been changed to PR8 which is more what I would have imagined it to be.
