COTTON KEAYS & MORRIS
I went with a group of friends last week to see 'Cotton Keays & Morris' at the Canterbury-Hurlstone Part RSL Club (September, 2003)
Darryl Cotton was the lead singer of 'Zoot' a late 60's Australian band that started off a a 'teeny-bopper band' (remember the slogan 'Think Pink - Think Zoot, and the pink jumpsuits.
Jim Keays was the lead singer with the legendary 'Masters Apprentices' one of the great Australian bands of the 60's and early seventies.
Russell Morris, of course, had a huge hit in the late sixties with his Molly Meldrum-produced version of Johnny Young's song 'The Real Thing', and followed up with other hits such as 'Sweet Sweet Love' and 'Wings of an Eagle'.

The Sons of Song were the first male trio to achieve any manner of success in the highly competitive gospel music industry of the 1950s. The excitement the group brought to the stage was second to none. They employed unique vocal arrangements unlike any the gospel music world had heard before or since.
This vocal aggregation became not a typical trio, but three separate vocalists with solo capabilities par excellence. There was no "star" in the group, but rather three superb musicians with the common goal of making the overall group sound the best it could be. In doing so, the sum became much stronger than any of its individual parts.

You got it! Congrats, vladb
The three musicians come from Algeria, but live in France. Probably the most popular alone is Cheb Khaled with his song "Aicha".
