I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it looks like e-hyip has closed. There is an announcement on the site.

Apparently the hackers are at it again.

E-HYIP has closed due to a hacker who broke in during todays e-gold downtime. He cleaned out our E-Hyip account and the Trading Account and used the current DOS attack on E-Gold to cover his tracks.

How can anyone get in to hack a site that is offline?

And if someone did hack the accounts during the short periods e-gold was up, then there IS a record of it!

I do believe the Admin of E-hyip is talking bulls**t (as do most HYIP Admins!)

He claims the "hacker" took advantage of the e-Gold site being down - and that's when it was hacked.

Now - you tell me how you can get into an account and hack it when the whole web-site is down ????

Answers on a postcard, please!

I must say that I tend to be a fairly positive thinker, yet when I read that the E-gold account has been hacked it rings alarm bells for me.

Forexzero said that & they`ve not been seen since. Also, didn`t European Traders Group say the same thing? Fortunately I wasn`t with ETG.

Anyway, let`s see if e-hyip goes the same way. [-o<

Well, good points, all. And it does raise alarm bells.

I sent him an e-mail this morning, and his response was to the effect of, Didn't you know that e-gold has been down?

Then I said, Oh, um, thanks. Then he e-mailed back to clarify he thought he might have been hacked and was trying to get in e-gold.

And as somebody pointed out on TG, why were trading funds just sitting in e-gold?

Be that as it may, even if he WAS hacked, hindsight is always better, but I hope all admins just don't phuck with stuff during a DDos attack or an e-gold outage, and have TWO computers -- one used only for accessing e-gold, with a router, as I believe Awty and others have suggested. . .

Almost at the break-even point, myself.

Grrrrr.

If I ever decide to admin a large scale HYIP based on actual trading, I'd make payouts to investors in e-bullion, with the option of receivng payouts in e-gold. I would also encourage investors to get cryptocards.

Now that I think about it, I'd probably have the trading accounts and the funding accounts in both e-bullion and pecunix, with a program payout account to investors in e-gold...

E-Gold is not an e-currency for the careless...

Okay...now to have a chat with the E-HYIP admin....

Because they are not doing what they are stating it is as simple as that no one is trading here.
I dont know what it will take to get through to the majority of people in this arena its a complete gamble nothing else.

Each and every program is doing two things
1) Piggy backing or pooling the funds with another program.
2) and Part Ponzi Based, which they are paying back, through new members spends + pooled programs returns.
Thats the reality here, people can fantasise as much as they like , that they are actually trading.
But anyone with half a brain, can see that trading here in HYIP land, is a non entity.

Below is my email to the E-HYIP admin. I had the joy of contacting a friend of mine who invested in E-HYIP on my suggestion the news... ops:

He followed his intuition and processed a withdrawal to his e-gold account, but wasn't in long enough to have reached the breakeven point, and so suffered a 50% loss of his test spend.

Can you tell me when this happenend? Also, I'm thinking that E-Gold would have a record of when the unauthorised access occured.

I'm invested in another program, and received a payout from them dated for this past Friday. I'm in my e-gold account right now [9:09pm EST, Saturday, Feb. 21st], reviewing my account history, and the website is functioning normally.

If E-Gold is under DOS attack, then their servers must be filtering out the bogus traffic.

If you are able to reopen E-HYIP, or launch a new program, would you consider using e-bullion and/or pecunix for the trading accounts?

Someone used a keylogger to capture the passphrase to one of my e-bullion accounts two years ago, and once I contacted E-Bullion, and verified my ownership of the compromised account, they restored the gold that had been stolen from my account. This took all of three days.

Admin of E-Hyip was the man known as Alan Jennings - does this name mean anything to anybody ?.. :-k - if not, then I'd advise you to learn for the future.

In the mid of Jan'04 there was another HYIP project closed by the same "reason": it claimed that its account had been hacked and all the money had been stolen. This was the "BestHYIP" project, it is managed to last for about 2 or 3 months. How do you think, who was the admin of the "BestHYIP" ?.. - yes, it was the Alan Jennings. #-o

Well, if you want you may think that this is just "unkind fate" of this guy, but I have completely another point of view on these stories ... :-({|=
