Any opinions?

HYIP'S ARE HRIP'S

Over the last few months we have noticed an absence of investment knowledge in this arena. Anyone who has any background investing, and even those who do not, should already understand that "High Yield" = "High Risk." It is obvious that usually the higher the rate of return an invest offers, the higher the risk involved. People however continue to blame others for their investment losses. Whether it is the admin of the program, HYIP rating site admins, forums, or newsletter writers like myself, they want to blame anyone but themselves for their loss. We are not making excuses for the scammers out there. HYIP admins who claim to be trading and really are just running a ponzi scheme, should be blamed. Having said this, those programs which actually are investing whether it be forex, stocks, funds, other HYIPs, or other high yield investing opportunities, should not always be blamed in our opinion. Do you threaten stockbrokers who give bad tips, companies that offer junk bonds who go under, or the board of directors of a company whos stock just dropped 95% due to bankruptcy? Sure, these HYIPs may not be opporating 100% legally in every country, however, they should not be any more liable then the people above. Just like risky stocks, junk bonds, or risky investments in the real world, HYIPs have an extremely high risk involved in order to return such large amounts. People have to realize that no HYIP whether it is a ponzi, or an actual investment will last forever. If you do not understand this, then you should not be in this arena.

The lack of investment knowledge, I believe, is based on the absolute lack of trust.

Which has been thrust on the General HYIP scene over the last 12-15 months.

By the failure of such a vast amount of long standing programs which were supposedley backed up by " " good management principles or so they led us to believe.

We dont have to name names, because we all know who they were and what they were meant to be doing.

But in reality they were not doing as we thought but found out after the demise of the larger programs.

To bring back a confidence to the investors in this arena will take a lot more than a couple of months recouperation.

In actual fact ,what the system needs, is a complete overhaul .

Where an investment has to be transparent to the point, that we the investors, control our own destiny.

And not be controlled by the administrators of such programs.

At this time, we are not in control and we have no real transparency.

In respect of how these ponzi's, or if investing, how they actually make their profits, whether it is by one or both principles.

The most common fault I see in the arena at this time, is that some people, will take for granted, that if a Forum advertises a program, that it must be okay.

But in reality, this is only an investment vehicle, for the forum. The same way as papers and Television use their power of publicity to advertise.

These are avenues of revenue which are able to keep these business enterprises open. Because, this is what they are, they are not in the first instance there for you or me.

They are there to make money for the owners who have the to find their out of pocket expenses first and foremost.

They can and are only able to act after they find that it is not a bonafide business which is invariably too late for the customer.

Eventually I think this arena will become a safer and more reliable place to invest but at this moment in time it is a minefield and you need a detector to find your way around.

And no matter what we say or think there will always be only one person who is responsible for the losses that come from this or any other investment vehicle and that is the investor .

Investing knowledge?

Interesting.

Over time I've spoken to several people looking to open their own HYIPs. Most had no idea what it takes to run a business, or handle investments.

Being as what's BEHIND the website is what counts, the knowledge and business skills of those involved.

For it to be a REAL investment, there is MUCH involved. Taking in and paying out is inly a small part. And, anyone buying a 'script' can easily do that.

Basically, it's a big game. HIGH RISK, yes.

If you want to play, you pays the money, and takes your chances.
There are some guidelines that can help, it's POSSIBLE to actually make money at it. But it's not easy, there's a lot of guessing involved. And, if you choose to play, there WILL be losses, so be prepared.

Many of us that have been involved in the HYIP arena for a while have lots of stories, learning experiences.

Anyway, I'm rambling. However, one 'play' on a TV commercial comes to mind...

"I'm not a real investor, but I play one on a website'...

It can be educational to talk to a program admin in a personal chat.
If you get the chance, it might prove interesting.

Also, you can try investing on your own, on paper if nothing else...
(That's educational, as well...)
Running a site is easy. It's the other stuff that's hard, and that's where the real skill is involved...

Just rambling,
Jeff
