Anybody here been able to find their "join date" through their PayPal account? I've been clicking around for quite some time and can't find any information as to when I joined.

I may or may not be within the prescribed time for joining, because I signed up for e-bay in 8/99 and started using PayPal not long after.

Thanks in advance if anybody knows how to get that info. I figure I could call or e-mail Pay Pal, but I'll bet they're going to be a little busy right now!

The last 2 class actions suits I was a party in, I ended up with less than $5.00. It's the lawyers that get rich on these...

Just my opinion,
Jeff

Thats true, they make all the cash in situations like this

I read the figure was around 9 million less a whopping 3 million in fees PLUS expenses, so that leaves about 5 million and about how many PP customers are there with complaints? - I guess tens of thousands

So there want be much left

Before I start digging around for dates etc, just a question.

Is this only for people who have a complaint against PayPal?

From the Class Action Release

Quote:
4. HOW DO I KNOW IF I AM PART OF THE SETTLEMENT?
On July 12, 2004, Judge Fogel entered an order granting preliminary approval of the settlement and certifying the following class for purposes of the settlement: All Persons who opened a PayPal account during the period from October 1, 1999 through January 31, 2004. Excluded from the class are any judicial officer to whom the lawsuit is assigned; PayPal and any of its affiliates; any current or former employee, officer, or director of PayPal; anyone who resides in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, or United Kingdom; and all persons who timely and validly request exclusion from the class pursuant to this notice.

Thus, if you opened a PayPal account between October 1, 1999 and January 31, 2004, and are not one of the excluded persons listed above, you are a member of the class.

I know what you mean, Jeff.

Let's see. Now we deduct the postage cost on mailing the Statutory Damage Claim Form. LOL

I just filled out the form and noticed that an estimated date of joining will do. So that takes care of that. I know within a few months.

I don't like lawyers really any better than anyone else here. However, just try taking on Pay Pal alone!! Ha!

Say, an Aussie attorney told me that Aussie attorneys can't take cases on a contingency fee-basis. Is that true???
