Do your part and Support you favourite Charity
John PMed me yesterday and suggested that we add a folder for charities and I agreed and thought that it was a good idea so the folder has now been added
He wanted to call it "CariDy Mate" but if your not from the UK you would probably wan't understand what that means, maybe he can expand on that
I also spoke to Robyn about it and what we were thinking is to allow WL members to write a brief overview about their favourite charity. Once we have around 10 then we will vote on which one Web Life members would like to support for the month and then open a fund which would be manged by Robyn (thanks Robyn for agreeing to help out
) where WL members could donate a dollar or so via e-gold. The fund would stay open for a month and then Robyn would send the money onto the charity selected for the month
How to submit a charity
Start a new thread with the charities name in the Title
Include a brief overview about the chaity and its URL
Once we have 10 we will then vote and select one to support for the month of August 2004

Hi Phil, It's for Charidy, mate, not caridy.
Anyway, why only 10 when there are 12 months in a year?
But I wish to support the PDSA (peoples' dispensary for sick animals) just in case I need treatment one day LOL
My report is nearly complete

Well the idea was to wait for around 10 charities to be submitted by members - then WL members would VOTE for the one that they want to support for that particular month
So there would be 1 per month / 12 per year that WL members could support
But WL members can "submit" as many charities as they like

I would like to nominate the S.I.D.S. Foundation. An extremely important research Foundation for the Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. S.I.D.S. needs to raise it's own research funds as the Government do not assist in any way.
My wife and I have been actively involved with fundraising for them over the last couple of years.

Yep its all Great stuff, keep all them charities coming in
Rick, if possible can you find the URL for them and then post SIDS in a new thread with maybe a very brief overview and also the URL
Lets try to keep each Charity in its own thread

We need another say 2 more charities, that will then give us 5 and then we can pick which one WL members would like to support for this month
If you have a favourite charity or support a particular charity, please do your part and submit a "very brief" summary about your charity
