Something came up over the weekend. We ran into some database issues and ended up speaking with someone who is Microsoft Certified. Basically we found that with our customer base growing like it has been and what it is projected to be later this year, the database I was currently using to work with the website wouldn't be able to handle the user load on the website. This means the site could crash as soon after its launch and that is completely unacceptable. In order to ensure that we will stay up and running when the site launches, we have to use stronger database software, which can do everything our current database does and support our growth. We hired the Microsoft Certified person I spoke of earlier to install the software on the server, re-create the database, and then to help with any code changes that need to be made after the switch-over. She expects to be able to get this done within the next 1-2 weeks. This means that we can't launch on Monday, August 16th. This also means that I can't set an exact date to launch at this point. I should have a better idea of what that date might be after this weekend. I'm extremely sorry about this as I know everyone is getting anxious. As I have stated in the past I will not put up the new website until I’m comfortable with it and know it is going to do what we say it is going to do.
