Tendonitis

Dr Mac, I have recently developed something my doctor described as tendonitis in my elbow.
Now having done some research on the `net I see it`s a fairly common ailment. I also read that in severe cases a cortizone injection can provide a period of relief, or in very severe cases surgery may be required.
But for the majority of cases, such as mine, those are unnecessary, and it does talk about `alternative` treatments. Are there any you would recommend at all?
