I stumbled across an interesting site that lists the biggest forums on the net. You can even sort by different categories such as Traffic and Posts

http://www.big-boards.com/

If you sort by the number of members Deviant Art an online art community has the most members - over 5 million members

If you sort by Alexa Rankings, there is even a John Kerry forum

How did you acquire so many members?

Wendy

Well I got involved with both stes after many of the members were already there. Filesharingtalk was created as the official forum ofr kazaa light, thus attracting thousands of new members a month back when it was in its prime.

How many boards are you involved with?

Posted by: edward

Well Brian and I co-own quite a few forums. The good thing about forums are that they usually run themselves for the most part.

http://www.thetrolls.com
http://www.4-um.com
http://www.gptforum.com - We each own 1/3 witha partner Bill

Starting forums can be difficult, especually if the market is already oversaturated.

Considering the fact that a relatively small proportion of Internet users are into Hyip`s I think that the forums associated with these types of programs get a lot of traffic.

Nowhere near Google and Microsoft of course, but just as a one-off I thought I`d check the very latest Alexa Rankings for some of the top forums and some of Web Life`s Network sites.

Purely in alphabetical order (and I don`t vouch for the accuracy of these figures nor can I explain their full meaning, apart from the lower the figure the better, I just take them as a rough indicator).

Buycheap traffic 344,401 (part of WL)
Goldentalk 377,151
Gold Horizons 251,185
Goldrater 154,794
HYIPSafelist 998,814 (part of WL)
HYIPSearch 959,851 (part of WL)
PrivateHYIPS 1,037,361
Web Life 176,008
TalkGold 33,692

One thing I did notice and that is most of the above sites have seen an increase in traffic recently.
