A couple of months ago I posted about a forthcoming show called the X-Factor. This show was unusual because it had no age upper age limit, and was also open to groups.

Well after a lot of tears (contestants, not mine) last night saw the show get down to the final six acts.

Here`s a report of who was booted out.

Voices With Soul voted off

Simon arrived on stage this week to the tune of You're So Vain. But why had he ditched the equally appropriate O Fortuna?

After three disappointing weeks G4 had dropped from favourites to win The X Factor down to fourth place. This week Louis had given them a more suitable song: Circle of Life from the Lion King. Jon's voice dominated the performance which was backed by sets of bongo drums.

Rowetta's performance was her strongest yet in the competition although many would not like the lyrics.

Voices With Soul, slated to be singing for the last week, also gave their best performance of the series - and planted lipstick on Simon's cheeks. Afterwards Simon asked them why they had changed couchez to chantez in "Voulez-vous couchez avec moi?" Quick as a flash - although not accurately - he was told: "Because you weren't in front of us."

Sharon's two acts had a poor week. Tabby was bereft without his guitar and and Cassie was given another song which was too difficult for her.

Slick Vegas crooned his way through yet another week and risked boring the audience.

The songs performed were:

G4: Circle Of Life
Rowetta: MacArthur Park
Tabby: I Don't Want To Miss A Thing
Voices With Soul: Lady Marmalade
Cassie: Hero
Steve: Help Me Make It Through The Night

Louis had both his acts in the bottom two for the second time in consecutive weeks. In fact, he has had six acts in the bottom two out of eight in the first four live showdowns.

G4 and Voices With Soul had to sing again. Sharon voted to send Voices With Soul home and then Simon voted to send G4 out of the competition. A tearful Louis had the casting vote and he decided to save G4. Voices With Soul were voted off the show.

Apparently the home of one of the X-Factor judges, Sharon Osbourne, has been burgled.

Quote:
LONDON, UK (Ozzy Osbourne Fans Website) - British rocker Ozzy Osbourne's mansion has been burgled by jewellery thieves early Monday and stole a "large amount of jewelry," police authorities said. The house in Buckinghamshire came to public attention when Osbourne was involved in a quad-bike accident in the grounds of the mansion a year ago.
Burglars broke into the English country mansion of rocker Ozzy Osbourne and his wife, Sharon according to police. The burglary woke the Osbournes, police said, and "a man" grabbed one of the intruders before the burglar broke free and jumped from a 10-meter-high, second-floor window.
According to Jay Marose, the Osbourne family's spokesman in the United States, "Ozzy and Sharon were in the house. They were woken up by the incident eventually. My understanding is that the intruder was discovered in Sharon's dressing room," adjoining the main bedroom, Marose said.

Now that's a damn daring burglar. Glad they caught him.

They should leave him with the kids for at least a week for some pre-punishment punishment!

I heard on the news that the Osbournes are offering a huge reward. The burglars did get away with some jewellery, which included a wedding ring of Sharon`s, the whole lot is reckoned to be worth literally several million £`s.

Their mansion has featured on the X-Factor, and is worth around £15 Million.

Leave them with the Osbourne kids, Terri, now that`s cruelty (and I don`t mean to the kids either).

After last night`s show, it`s now down to just 3 contestants.

G4: The last representatives of the groups.

Tabby: In the under 25 section.

Steve : In the over 25 section.

X Factor judge Louis Walsh has hit out at finalist Steve Brookstein, saying he looks like serial killer Fred West.

Walsh shocked Fern and Phil on ITV1’s This Morning when he likened Steve to the murderer who turned 25 Cromwell Street into a “House of Horrors”.

“I think he’s just a very average singer. He just stands there and smiles. He’s like Fred West,” he said.

“Fred West?” gasped presenters Fern Britton and Phillip Schofield. Walsh replied: “That’s who he looks like.”

Steve, managed by Simon Cowell, is up against Walsh’s protégés G4 in this Saturday’s final.

The Irish judge said of his classical hopefuls: “These guys were buskers on the street. They want this so badly and they deserve it. They have the X Factor. They don’t just stand there and smile like that – they perform.”

The two acts will battle it out to land a lucrative recording contract.

Sligo rocker Tabby Callaghan was voted off the show on Saturday.

Steve voted The X Factor winner

Solo singer Steve Brookstein was voted winner of The X Factor in the tense final of the ITV show.

The 35-year-old pub singer beat quartet G4 to win a £1m recording contract, with bookmakers beforehand saying the race was too close to call.

Steve had been coached through the series by pop guru Simon Cowell.

The emotion of winning overcame Steve as he struggled to get through his final performance, a rendition of Phil Collins' Against All Odds.

The show has seen its fair share of arguing between the panel of celebrity judges with Sharon Osbourne and Cowell often bickering.

Osbourne, wife of rock star Ozzy, did not hold back in her criticism of Steve in the final show, calling him a fake who was too confident.

Louis Walsh, who mentored G4, also got into verbal rows with his fellow judges.

The format for the show varied slightly from previous ITV talent shows Popstars and Pop Idol in that older performers, groups and individuals were allowed to compete.

The X Factor will return for a second series after ITV announced last week it had been recommissioned. A US version is also planned on the back of its UK success.

I think there`ll be a lot of 30 somethings who will be very happy with the result.

Sharon Osbourne appeared on BBC`s `Crimewatch` program last night where she offered a £100,000 reward for the return of her jewellery.
