Former All Saints whining Natalie Appleton has become the second contestant to quit ITV's 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' rather than take her fifth bushtucker trial. Branded as "irritating" by her own sister according to the Daily Mirror, has had a tough time since the start of the series, probably even feeling victimised. Viewers, who in the first show saw her afraid of a tree, have taken delight in choosing the nervy Appleton to take part in a variety of challenges, including eating bugs and walking a trolley across a tightrope high in the jungle canopy, where she screamed for her mum. But after failing to do well in the challenges, including winning just one meal for her camp mates during her fourth challenge, seen on last night's show, she decided to walk rather than take part for a fifth time. The fourth challenge saw her attempting to undo ropes underwater as snakes were released into the water. According to media reports this morning, Appleton quit at around 12:30am GMT last night. She is now the second celebrity to quit the show, following Brian Harvey's exit last week because of a ruck with Janet Street-Porter about of all thing breaking wind. On tonight's show, a third celebrity will also leave, but this time as the first to be axed by public vote. Singer Sheila Ferguson is the favourite for the boot, with squeaky-voiced comic Joe Pasquale still the favourite to win, according to the bookmakers. It has not been announced who will complete the bushtucker trial that was set for Natalie Appleton, which involved navigating through a network of rat-infested bamboo poles. |
Even after eating kangaroo`s testicles it still wasn`t enough to get Burrell in to first place.

LONDON - Comic Joe Pasquale, the bookmakers' hot favorite, was crowned king of the jungle in Monday night's final of the hit reality TV show "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here." Pasquale was one of three final contestants vying for the title, along with Paul Burrell, former butler to Princess Diana, and nightclub owner Fran Cosgrave. "I've been dying to get on the throne for the past few weeks," Pasquale said, after completing a final Bushtucker Trial endurance test which saw him shut in a wet, rat-infested pit. The squeaky-voiced comic won over viewers with his quips and easygoing nature. Bookmakers Ladbrokes had backed the 43-year-old Pasquale as the runaway favorite, with odds of 1/6, compared to 4/1 for Burrell and 12/1 for Cosgrave. Burrell was the runner-up, while Cosgrave came third. On Sunday, broadcaster Janet Street Porter became the sixth contestant to be evicted from the Australian jungle camp, where minor celebrities are left to get along with each other under the constant gaze of the cameras. Those already booted out included former lap dancer Nancy Sorrell and her husband, comedian Vic Reeves, and singer Sheila Ferguson. Model Sophie Anderton and actor Antonio Fargas, known as Huggy Bear in the 1970s TV police series "Starsky and Hutch," were also ousted earlier in the series. All Saints singing star Natalie Appleton and former East 17 front man Brian Harvey both quit. |
