England Denied Ninth Successive Cricket Win

De Villiers was 52 not out when the light was offered 15 overs ahead of time, with the hosts 87 in arrears. The result means England have now gone 13 Tests without tasting defeat.

Apparently both captains and managers had agreed with the umpires before the series began that they would only play in natural light. So, even though the floodlights provided perfectly good lighting which should have enabled play to continue, the `rules` both sides had previously agreed prevented that from happening.

So, the match ended in a draw. Seems stupid!
