IBM Build World`s Most Powerful Supercomputer

Incidentally, the second most powerful computer on the list is also a Blue Gene design known as BGW and based at IBM's Thomas J Watson Research Center in New York. This however, has fewer processors and has a top processing speed of only 91.2 teraflops.

Good question, here`s the answer.

And I'm definitely still confused, as the BGW mentioned above (previous fastest computer) has 91.2 teraflops.

Mega, giga, tera and peta still must have some numerical meaning. Not that I'm going to go researching it right now. LOL

Thanks for the eye-opening report, Geoff! I wonder what they'll do with one of these. I wonder what is being done with the 499 runners up? Perhaps they're just too expensive for mass demand?
