More DDoS Attacks Reported

More DDoS attacks are being reported and confirmed by goldwebsol.com so members shouldn`t get too panicky about downed sites too quickly.

The attacks seem to be more and more frequent on many websites and I still don't understand what the attackers gain from doing that. Do they actually think that they can hold the site for ransom? I seriously doubt it.

Who are these DDos attackers in the first place? Competitor programs out to destroy another program? I too don't understand what these attackers gain from doing so.
