Which Hyip forum is the most popular?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: Chrillec

Hi guys,

I'm posting this on the 8 biggest Hyip forums and I hope it will get to stay in this folder so web-life get's a good rating

My long domain name website, thisisreallythelongesthyiprelatedwebsitedomainname thereisaround.com has a cool name and all but isn't very user friendly so I've set up a new Hyip forum, monitor and rating site listing at http://thehyipfiles.com. I invite you all to go there and vote for your favorite forum and monitoring sites! Will web-life beat Talkgold, hyipdiscussion, MMG and the other forums?

CK

PS. You can also submit your Hyip related website at the site. NO Hyips! Just Hyip related sites!

Posted by: forwardone

Nice idea, I can think of two that should be right at the top.

Posted by: Chrillec

Thanks, Now don't forget to vote
MMG is at top with 2 votes..

Posted by: Chrillec

Web-life takes the lead..

Posted by: golddust

Soooo, I added Gold Horizons ... hard to believe that it could be missed. MMG at the lead, but glad to report that Weblife and HYIPF are above Talkgold.

How long will this poll be running? Is more than one vote allowed?
(... if not, too late... )

golddust

Posted by: Chrillec

It's one vote per IP and the voting will be there *for ever* so over time it will show the most popular sites

Gold Horizon is listed now. You have to log in to see the forums? I just registered over there and await approval from mod

The GH home page covers much information, mod approval is not unusual for forums that do not wish to readmit "banned" users.

As I said before, to each his own. Each forum is unique, so it's up to you to say which one is "best" or which one does fit you. As for me, it's Web-Life and HYIPD although I usually lurk in TG too for some hyip news...

Posted by: Chrillec

I totally agree. I'm eyeballing through the major forums daily and the characteristic of each forum is pretty clear but many people are posting regularly on several forums.

Posted by: Hardlyworkin

Both Weblife and HYIPDISCUSSION should be the tops. I'm not a real big TG fan at all.

Posted by: forwardone

The 2 forums I`m most involved in have both improved in the Alexa Rankings which is pleasing, although of course I appreciate Alexa isn`t a perfect indicator by any means.

Traffic Rank for web-life.org: 99,347

Traffic Rank for The HyipForum: 34,180

If my memory serves me right this is the 1st time that Web Life has gone below the 100,000 mark.

Posted by: Chrillec

web-life number one in rating again!

Posted by: golddust

I am impressed!

Posted by: Chrillec

Just wanted to say that I'm implementing Google pagerank on all links in the directory. Might be interesting for advertisers..

Posted by: FutureGizmo

Congrats to Web-Life! Hooray! Next time we'll target to be under the 50,000 mark

Posted by: cralle

I just voted for hyipd... that is my number one choice.

By the way, can you submit a hyiprelated site in a non-english language?

Posted by: Chrillec

Of course! I was thinking about adding sub categories for just that but I'm waiting to see if there are many/any international sites being submitted..

Posted by: tulasu

This is a very cool idea, Chrillec! And I just found out about it yesterday and listed ProjectPCF.

When I went and checked it now - I can't believe that there were 3 votes and we're in 2nd place!

Thank you to whoever voted! I guess I should add my own, huh?

We are just a little guy yet, but it is gratifying that people like us so far and we do have a private SuggestionBox - so if anyone has ideas for improvements, we want to hear about them.

Many forums are adding Threads for non-english members.
I think these forums are best recommended to hopefully communicate somewhat the same information for both english and non-english members . If you are submitting non-english only sites, then only those of the 'foreign' language would know what they were voting for... geesh, did that make sense?

golddust

Posted by: Chrillec

I understand perfectly, golddust, but that doesn't have to be a problem does it? IF there is one non-english user for every english and everyone give their vote then the international forum would get 1/10th of the votes, you mean? (Devided into even more parts for each language I guess?...) But that would only reflect the reality, don't you think?

Posted by: Chrillec

Tulasu; projectpcf.com now has 11 votes and has taken the number one spot: Looks like you're quite popular

Posted by: golddust

I think that you are correct in your logic, however who is to say what is "reality"? (Proportionally speaking?)

Interesting!

golddust

Posted by: Chrillec

Everyone has his own personal perception of reality

Posted by: golddust

Tulasu- projectpcf.com is really making a move. Zimbu at HF will have to retract his statement about there not being enough members... great going!

golddust

Posted by: Chrillec

I've added non-english sub categories now. check it out and submit if you know any good ones!

Posted by: tulasu

Thanks, Golddust, this has been rather fun! But seriously, I think that fun is really the only way to view it, at least in the short term. Eventually the averages should balance out with the controls in place that are on IP votes.

Here's why this came to mind. One of my members went to vote and thought she should vote #1. LOL Bringing our average way down. Theoretically, someone could go in and vote #1 for a bunch of forums and vote #10 on their favorite, really messing up the true picture. Hopefully, there aren't too many who would do that, but we all know that they are out there.

But imagine ... even with that boo boo we went straight to the top. I am flabbergasted!

web-life is back in the lead, http://thehyipfiles.com

Posted by: golddust

This could be a long roller coaster ride.

Posted by: Chrillec

Yes it could be... I've made a visual overview of all links listed at http://thehyipfiles.com and it's at http://www.thisisreallythelongesthy...ereisaround.com

check it out. WL is at over all position 11

Posted by: golddust

I reckon that there will be continued change as long as there is ongoing introduction to the poll. I wonder what the margin of error is?

golddust

Posted by: Chrillec

Yes, I think so to but I think that over time the votings will reflect the true ratings but visitors has to vote to make that happend. I think I will try a "true rating" appoach counting total points instead.

Posted by: golddust

Can you explain the difference between how it is currently set up and a "true rating approach"?

golddust

Posted by: Chrillec

Yes, certainly! Right now it's listed by an average rate point meaning that 1 is min points and 10 is max. If one user rates it a 10 it gets 10 points and it's top rated. If another user rates it a 1 the points drops to 5.5, the average between 1 and 10.
This means that a website with one vote of 10 gets a better position than one with ten votes of 9. "True rating" is the total vote points collected from all votes so one 10-vote is 10 points and ten 9-votes is 90 points.
This also means that a site with eleven 1-votes gets a better position than a site with one 10-vote and that's no good. That's why I think that the current set up with an average vote point is better in the long run. A new website with one 10-vote will get a top position for some time but if it is not worth it other voters will make sure that it doesn't stay there. The listing at http://thisisreallythelongesthyiprelatedwebsitedomainname thereisaround.com shows the total rate points.

Thanks for the explanation Chrillec. I get it!

Good to see WL up there so close to the No.1 spot among members.

Posted by: luke101

I vote for my site. I think one day it will be number one.

Posted by: golddust

Luke101, Welcome to Weblife and thanks for posting. Having not (yet) heard of your site, can you explain why you think it will be someday #1?

golddust

Posted by: luke101

Well golddust, I really cant say how I will become #1 classified but I have a few tricks up my sleeve. So, far we have over 200 users and growing. These are authentic user, not from scandlous forum posters or none of that stuff. Our threads are taking the first page on yahoo and msn..we are working on google as I speak.

I am the admin of incomehunting and I am in love with it. Its my baby. This is one of the reasons it wil come on top

Posted by: golddust

I suggest you place an "AD" or start a "New Discussion" about your program, since the topic of this thread is 'the most popular HYIP forum'.....and quite an old topic it is....

Well golddust, it will only make since that you are the moderator of the forum and have the permissions to move or delete that post as you please. As a matter of fact my post is totally on topic. Usually, admins prefer you not make double postsNo need to get rude, it makes both of our sites look bad

Posted by: golddust

I'm not getting how your site "incomehunting" relates to this thread topic of " Which Hyip forum is the most popular?.... I would not have made the suggestion to post an AD or New Discussion, if it were not permissible on this forum. Clearly, your post is not "totally on topic", so I am merely trying to redirect comments back to that topic.
BTW- if you read the rules of this forum, you will find that making a reference to your SIG, either directly or implied is not permitted. Please take the time to edit your post to make direct reference to what you are talking about or if that is not possible, given the topic of this thread, you may also chose to delete it. In either event, you can make another post in a thread more directly related to your topic.

Ah..OK.Today has been a busy day. Been working all day and trying to make posts here and there. I read my post again and figured out why you would want that post edited or deleted. Hey man all you had to do was PM me what you wanted, but instead you took the hard route and publically spoke about it. I have no problem with that but people will start to put two and 2 together and make this site look bad.

If you thought my post was off topic you should have voiced that on my very first post in this thread. You asked why I think my site would be #1 and I 'simply' answered the question.

P.S.

This is true. But why did you wait almost 4 months to repond? As it is clear now that your site is not a 'forum" and your post is misplaced given the thread "topic". It is not personal, so why should I PM you? It is worthy to note this for other members of this forum, to encourage posts in appropriate Folders/threads. And since there is another similar thread with more recent, relevant discussion. I am closing this thread. I fail to see how this would make me or you "look bad".

Thanks,

golddust
