I had sent a note to GoldUniverse (Anybody remember it? 3000% in 3 months?) asking if a refund was possible...
Received a reply today...

Suggest staying away. GU was, I believe, pure ponzi. (personal opinion).
Let's see. In order to get my refund, I have to invest. The MINIMUM is $100.00, several times what I 'invested' as a test.
Site is on geocities (free), and "admin" is using a Yahoo adress (free). Says will invest in Forex, and pay 3.5%/day.
Sigh.. Let me think... well, uh... no thanks.
Now, WHERE have I seen that '2003' before (Check the return address).........
(was this one of the other 2 programs?)
And, on another note, the DD 'phenomenon' is making the rounds.
One claim from the site:
"-After investing you will also receive my private address, phone number and scanned passport with a photo. All to verify my integrity."
Anybody missing a passport?
I just couldn't resist posting this...
Seems to relate to another thread.
Possibly an attempt to generate refunds for another program, as well?

Yep, and what happened a week b4 GU was scheduled to pay, they were hacked

I sent a note to "admin" just before I wrote this, and got a reply that GU was hacked, along with an apology that 'admin' didn't have my 'confidence', which I found an interesting choice of words, considering 'confidence' is at the root of the tern 'con man'.
Just about the time that outflow (payments) matched up with Inflow (deposits), GU was hacked. Sure LOOKS like a ponzi to me.

There is not a truer word said ezyman .And I think ** awty ** may be closer than he thinks lol ) although no one can be sure as sure as eggs .
Golduniverse took a lot of of people for a lot of money it was as big a con as EzyBucks.
This admin is either looking for more funding obviously or they have the audacity to ask the ones that they took for a ride up till may the 7th this year.
Well that was my last payment from them anyway but I feel lucky in the sense I managed to recoup my initial investment before they left with all the promises in the world .
Which I may add were never fulfilled ,I know I know some said they got their refund well if they did they were lucky thats all I can say.
This is why I always say get your initial investment back before re-investing.
That way you are playing with their money.and although you dont like it , it doesnt hurt too much, apart from your pride
They, I mean the scammers are getting what I call a little edgy because of sites like ours .They are trying every trick they know or can think up .
This is mainly why we are here to take some of the guesswork out of this arena.
Although it is impossible to completely eradicate the scammer it certainly helps.
And by all of us combining our knowledge and experience we are slowly but surely winning the day I think.
