There are a few changes afoot at XLO. I can almost hear everyone holding their breath - so please be assured that there are NO program changes. NO payout changes. But there are/will be some procedural changes. We are moving servers. The most important impact that this has for you is that the new server time is 12 (or so) hours AHEAD of our current server. (As I write this it is 12:13 AM on June 24 on the current server - new server time is currently 11:30PM June 24) The day we swap over there will be a reduced surfing time. We anticipate the move to be within the next 24 hours - right now we are waiting on propagtation. When we move you will only be able to access the site from xlentopps.NET. There WILL be a slight downtime as we trransfer the database and we will keep this to as small a window as we can. Other procedural changes have also been implemented in the last few days. You are only able to cashout once a day now. This will affect maybe 1 or 2 members, if anyone - but it's just a security tightening. Also - if you try and cashout more than your invested amount - we are obliged to check on it first. Again - its a security issue - and as some of you would be aware, it's just a matter of us seeing it, looking it over and then processing the payout. The server we will be located on is in Malaysia, and is dedicated. There may be some textual changes to the site; we are aware of the present legal situation regarding "business opportunities" and may well adjust the wording slghtly. As always we have and will implement these activities with a minimum of fuss. Some of the scripting issues have "forced" a downtime of a couple of hours over the last few days, and the move definitely requires no changes to the database while we transport it. The change in server time is probably the biggest impact you will see, so please be aware of it. As you know the server is dragging recently. We are looking at solutions for this but one short term solution has been imposed. Effective immediately - the max sites per day is reduced to 50. This means that those people who were trying so hard to surf the max sites will now only be able to surf 50 - which will then free up resources for others. We work constantly to make your XLO surfing experience a good one - and if this helps - as it will - then it is a must. In a further effort to reduce load on the server XLO has implemented a reduction in the number of sites that you are required to surf. Effective immediately - your daily 2% return will be paid for surfing 10 sites. Each site will load for 10 seconds. We expect that this reduction will help significantly reduce the server load. If you can assist by delaying your surfing a little (it seems everyone wants to surf as SOON as the day changes) then that too will help. We wish to thank you for your patience as we look at the best way to improve your surfing experience with XLO. As you would be aware - we have had one or two or twenty issues with the server being slow over the last few days or weeks. We have made some adjustments to the number of sites to surf and the max sites that you can surf and things are better - but - it's still all a little slow. So we are moving the server to a new datacenter (and also increasing the RAM in the server at the same time) However - this is a physical move - the box itself gets unplugged and moved - and we end up with new IP's and routers and the end result is that service should be improved. However, this is going to mean some down time. It cannot be avoided, so what we are doing is as follows: The move is scheduled for Thursday 9:00 AM through 5:00 PMserver time. What we will do is take the XLO site offline on Thursday 2 November 2006 -as per the SERVER.. We will do this at the START of the day. This means that for those in EST US the site will not be available from 11:00 AM on 1 November - and you shouod work out your local time accordingly. We will disable logins, signup and surfing. You will NOT be able to surf until we are relocated to the new datacenter. This is expected to be in 24 hours - basically our aim is to have the XLO site offline for the whole of 2 November (SERVER TIME). This will give the new IP time to propagate so that everyone will have access. We are not sure when exactly the site will be available - but as stated it should be 24 hours. We will work out the best way to compensate for the lost day at some point AFTER the site has settled at the new datacenter. You are highly encouraged to join the forum at www.xlo-tftforum.com if you are not already a member. We will be giving updates thoughout the day as to where we stand with progress. The XLO site came live in some places at 11:00 EST today but some 5 hours later there is still not full access in all parts of the world. The issue is propagation - basically we are waiting for the new datacenter to be recognised by various domain servers throughout the world. That this means is that you may have access - but someone 5 miles away may not. In the interests of looking after everyone - we will wait until tomorrow (which will the 5th SERVER time) before we alow signing in and surfing. Thanks for bearing with us throughout this last couple of days - the move was a definite requirement - and although we have tried to keep the downtime to a minimum, patience is the best option now. We will be enabling logins to XLO once the new day has started. Surfing on 4 November will be at 6% which will compensate for the lost time. If you are still having issues accessing the site you have 2 options - you ca wait to see when you will be propagated - there are 24 hours available to surf remember. The other alternative is to go to www.opendns.com to reset your DNS which will then give you access. Thank you all for your patience throughout the last couple of days. One final point - although it is going to be tempting - if you could resist the urge to all surf IMMEDIATELY that you have access - that will help. Thanks for your support in this. Hey there G H As you would know the surfing at XLO has been difficult (or insert your own adjective of choice) This has been due to various factors - and I have been given every reason under the sun, growth, pipeline script server etc. After doing more research into it, the bottom line was a server upgrade. This we went ahead and did (that was the short downtime last night. XLO is now based of a numer of servers, and we have solved the issues of access. We are able to handle whatever growth comes our way - as we head into our 2nd year of operation. And we will handle all issues the same was as always, quietly and effectively. I do know some of you would have preferred that this upgrade was done much earlier - however we took the time to make sure that when we took action it would be to be best possible and longest term results. Thank you all for being patient - I do know (from the emails and contact requests) that the server has been trying everyones patience. I do think we can only look foward to improvement. The move was accomplished with only minimal downtime - and payouts were - as always - instant throughout the process. There is more work to do - but I know you want to get back surfing. Three days has been added to unexpired upgrades. There is just too much speculation to say what the future is for XLO. Seems to me the new admin would take advantage of his new database and introduce himself (and his other programs) to XLO members.
