Finance consumers are becoming very concerned about the sharp increase in Identity Theft and don't really know what to do when this happens to them. Identity Theft is a crime that involves someone else using your name, or other personal information to obtain Credit Card s, Loan s driving, licences and much more.

So you might be asking - Debt Collectors - Breaking the Law!
This is how, according to the Consumer Credit Act 1974 -2006 a consumer is entitled to obtain a copy of their credit agreement upon request and by paying a fee of £1.
Have you recently had a letter via Snail Mail or harassing phone calls from a debt collector and don't even know why - Maybe someone has took a loan out in your name, not paid the debt and now you are being pursued for the balance? Fight back! Don't be backed into a corner - If the debt is not yours, do something about it and request the Credit Agreement before it's too late!
It may not be your signature on that Credit Agreement !
Could there be mistakes on the Credit Agreement ?
Do the debt collectors really have a copy?
The Consumer Credit Act is there for your protection - "Consumer" and every legally binding Credit Agreement is regulated by it! When was the last time you saw a copy? Never, I bet! Why not?
A Debt Collectors can not enforce any debt or further legal action without a copy of this Credit Agreement - They are breaking the law without it!
