You can make new deposits, you can manage your current investments, you can make withdrawals and you can access our full service support center. Live Support: You may have noticed near the top of the page the link to access the live support for UPIE. At the moment, I have not been frequently online, however I hope to soon have the live support center operational full time. We have all heard this many times, and heard many people comment that if you want to become your own boss and open a business, go for it. Well I say, hold \\\'er there bucko. Opening a business is going to get you in way over your head if you don\\\'t know what you are doing. Before opening a business you need to think about this? - Do you have a business plan - Do you have the funds to start it - Do you know what you are doing? If you answered no to any of these questions, you have plenty of work ahead of you before opening your own business. 2/5 small businesses fail, and the main reason for that is lack of preparation. Continue reading this newsletter to get all of the hottest up to date information on UPIE, the Untied Private Investment Enterprise. ***A NEW MEMBER JOINS THE UPIE TEAM*** Over the past few days I have had many applications inquiring about becoming the UPIE forum moderator, and I am proud to announce that one has been chosen. I would like to announce that the forum moderator is Monigod. Monigod is a respected member who has shown her talents on many occasions on a variety of investment related forums. I have full confidence that she will do an excellent job, and will be an invaluable asset to the UPIE community. For those of you who are members of other well known forums, you likely think of the moderators as the authority figures, who control everything and are always deleting your posts. I would like to change this stereotype that has been established for some moderators. Though Monigod is here to help keep the forum clean and organized, her main goal is to establish and maintain the friendly UPIE community. Feel free to direct any of your inquiries on the forum to Monigod and she will do her best to help you out. Unity is the only path to success, which is why we are United in the United Private Investment Enterprise. ***RECENT WEBSITE DOWNTIME AND HOSTING UPDATE*** Earlier this week when attempting to access UPIE you were likely shocked, as was I, to find a page saying that the UPIE website was not accessible due to exceeding our bandwidth quota. I sincerely apologize for this downtime, and hope that there were no worries during this short period. I'm not exactly sure how, but somehow we did exceed our bandwidth quota. I was under the impression that I had purchased enough, however, as our members continue to amaze me, it appears that we have had record traffic. Everyday the member count is increasing substantially, and I hope that it continues to grow as we move forward in the coming days, weeks and months. As a result of the recent downtime, I have begun to fast-track the plan for UPIE to establish an entire network for our website hosting. As you can tell, we expect to become one of the largest investment enterprises online, therefore we will evidently require a substantial amount of server space and hosting power. The plan over the coming weeks/months is to establish three dedicated servers from which the website will be hosted. The website will acquire two additional domain names, bringing the total number of UPIE access points to 3. Each website will be hosted on a separate server, thus protecting us from the risk of having the entire website taken down by a threat such as DDOS. You may be wondering why this is rarely done, and hardly ever accomplished. Usually this is not possible because the user database which includes all of your accounts and information must be duplicated and then synchronized. Rather than having 3 separate and synchronized databases, we will have one central database on a fourth server. This database will be at a secret location, and will be accessed by each of the three user-access websites. The main benefit of this is that is makes UPIE essentially invincible to any form of malicious attack including DDOS or a SPAM attack. It allows us to change the domain for the website at a moments notice without having any effect on the program. UPIE: United in Protecting our Incredible Enterprise ***SITE FLAWS*** Inevitably when a site of the complexity of UPIE is created, there are going to be some site flaws. As you may have noticed, alot of the flaws that have popped up on the forum have been corrected, however there still remains a few which are pending. Below is a list of the flaws which we are aware of and are currently waiting to be corrected by the programmer Site Statistics - On the homepage, some of the stats are incorrect Spelling Errors - On the compounding page, compounding is misspelled History of Referral Payments - For those of you who are activated as referrals, you may be having trouble viewing this page. Please be patient as this is in line to be corrected. Forum Page Switch - I noticed this one 30 seconds ago. When you are on a forum post which has multiple pages, there is no link to switch pages from within the post. If you find any errors on the site, please send a support ticket to the admin through the Support page in your account. If you report an error which has yet to be identified, you may be rewarded. ***SIR POST-A-LOT AWARD*** A few weeks ago I made a post on the forum stating that I would be giving a $15 bonus to be used at UPIE to the first person who made 10 legitimate forum posts. There is a concern which primarily affects accounts which have been created in the last 10 days, and those which have made deposits during this time. Please read on to keep up to date with UPIE In Today\'s Issue - Account Problems: You\'re not alone - Contacting the admin - Payments: When do they start - Userbase Doubled - UPIE Party ***ACCOUNT PROBLEMS*** I\'ll start this section with a quote \"If builders built houses the way programmers built programs, the first woodpecker to come along would destroy civilization.\" This is exactly how I\'ve been feeling the past few days. Since Wednesday of this week I have been having trouble with many aspects of the UPIE website. Having limited programming knowledge myself, I have been unable to fix the many problems which have popped up in user accounts. In particular I would like to thank our user \"wands\" who pointed out one of the largest flaws. On accounts which have been recently created, and have recently made deposits you may notice that there is an error on the history page. The history page states the payment amount which has been paid, however in the dollar value of the amount that you have earned you are likely seeing a 0.00 figure. This is incorrect. Nevertheless, there is no need to worry. Despite the fact that your history page may be saying that you have not made any profit, the profit is still being added to your account. If you are experiencing the above, please hold off contacting me until I have resolved the problem with the programmer. Also on the topic of site flaws, I would like to direct your attention to a post that I made a few days ago regarding this week\'s payments. In addition to all of the account problems that are being faced at the moment are a few other problems around the site which have been waiting to be cleared up as well. Below is a statement from the programmer. \"Dear UPIE Members, I would like to apologize for the programming errors which have become apparent over the past week. I have been away, and have returned today to an email box full of complications. My programming team will begin to address these problems immediately. You can expect to see a huge improvement by Tuesday. - UPIE Programming Manager\" As stated in the above, the programming team will be working on these problems primarily during the beginning of next week and we can expect to see a large improvement. Along with the programmer, I apologize to those who are having difficulties with aspects of their accounts. If you have any questions regarding this matter or any other, please open a support ticket from the Support section of your UPIE account. ***CONTACTING THE ADMIN*** Many individuals have expressed their concern on which is the quickest way to get my attention when they have a UPIE related question. Below are the contact options that are available, ranked in the order of \"Speediest response\" 1. UPIE Account Support Ticket. From within your account you can visit the support page and contact the admin. A support ticket will be created and all correspondence regarding the matter will be found associated with the support ticket. To view the admin response, simply return to the Support page and view the ticket. This is by far the fastest way to get your concern heard. I check the support system almost hourly during the day and at other random times. If possible, use this option. 2. UPIE Forum PM. Nearly as fast as sending a support ticket, is sending a Private Message through the UPIE forum. Please direct all messages to \"Voltaire\" rather than \"admin\". I do read the admin account, however not nearly as frequently as the Voltaire account. 3. Email. My email address is chezvoltaire@gmail.com I check this email address as frequently as possible, however my responses are slower than if you contact me through the UPIE website. 4. Other hyip forums. As many of you know, I am a member at countless hyip forums including Talkgold, Thehyipforum, GoldHorizons and Weblife to name a few. If you send me a PM at one of these forums, you can expect a response, however it will be the slowest. ***PAYMENTS - When do they start*** One of the main reasons that new investors contact me is to ask when their payments will begin. They make a deposit on a Sunday, and are surprised that there is no payment for Monday showing up in their account. As one must understand, it is impossible to get funds from e-gold into a trading account during the period of 6pm Sunday to 8am Monday. Therefore, there is a 2 business day maximum wait before your payments will begin. If you make a deposit on Monday, you should expect your first payment no later than Thursday. However, in most cases you will not be required to wait the entire two business days, depending how things are going on my end. One of the issues which came up very often was the acceptance of E-bullion as a deposit option. I have spoken with the programmer, and U-PIE accepting E-bullion will soon become a reality. The programmer has started to work on introducing E-bullion. I am hoping that e-bullion deposits will be available as of early next week. For those who are not familiar with E-bullion, I would like to specify a few of it’s advantages - Easy funding by bank wire - Increased security as a result of the Cryptocard - Easy withdrawals by check/wire For more information on E-bullion, visit http://www.e-bullion.com ***WEBSITE UPDATES*** The U-PIE programmer is currently making a few changes to the U-PIE website, and is working on correcting a few errors which have been affecting a few members. Nothing significant is going to change, however in the process of updating the website, I have noticed that he has accidentally sent out an email to a few of you. Please ignore any emails from U-PIE which do not seem normal. U-PIE: Always improving to serve you better! ***U-PIE RESERVE FUND*** Two weeks ago, I was speaking to a member of U-PIE on ICQ, and he asked whether or not U-PIE has actually made a profit every single day since we opened. If you look at our payouts, we have yet to have a negative day. My answer to his question, was no. U-PIE has had days when no profit is made, and even days when a loss is incurred. This lead to further questioning of how U-PIE could pay a profit when in reality we had a trading loss. The answer to this question is simple: The Reserve Fund. U-PIE stock trading days place every day of the week, and is used to furnish the returns to U-PIE members. On days when the return is larger than 1.5%, a small portion of the return is added to a special reserve fund. Unlike other programs, the reserve fund is not sitting around for the sole purpose of saving the program if there is a major trading loss. Rather, U-PIE uses the reserve fund to make low returns on days when a trading loss is incurred. On days when you notice that the payment to your U-PIE account is less than 1%, it is quite possible that a small trading loss has occurred and the reserve fund is being used to pay a small return. After my explanation of this system, the member whom I was speaking to began to express a little concern over the possible event of a large trading loss. Thankfully, due to the methods of trading by the stock traders, there is no possibility of a large trading loss. Therefore, this leaves the reserve fund entirely available to balance out negative trading days. Since the beginning of U-PIE there have been less than 5 negative trading days, all of which, were covered fully by the reserve fund and a return was still paid. Another question which is frequently asked by our members is, what type of stocks do you invest in? There are 5 major stock indices that are used by our traders. - Dow Jones - S and P - Nasdaq - TSX - CAC-40 This allows us to have our hands in stock trading in the United States, Canada and Europe. On national holidays when the stock markets are closed in specific country, it is likely that one or more of the other markets in which we trade will be open. A good example of this would be the recent Thanksgiving Holiday in Canada. Unless the holiday is universal, stock trading will take place. As shown on the U-PIE website, we currently have slightly over $8,000 actively trading from members accounts. This amount is low compared to the amount of money which is usually traded on the stock markets, in day trading. In order to maximize profits, U-PIE uses a system of margin trading. By trading on margin, we are able to increase our leverage and earn higher returns for our members. Though we only have $8,000 actively trading on the stock markets, we are actually trading an amount which is significantly higher due to our leverage. First, when I attempted to login to U-PIE, the site wouldn’t load. Secondly, when I logged in to my Gmail account, I had 50 new emails informing me that the site was down. Unfortunately, there were some server problems with the front-end of U-PIE which lasted between Thursday and Saturday. At first I had the suspicion that U-PIE was experienced a malicious attack, however this was not the case. There was a simple problem with the server that was rectified simply by resetting a few server settings. Unfortunately, at the time I wasn’t informed of how to manually repair the server, thus leading to the extended downtime. I have now realized the full capabilities of my server back end and will be able to prevent similar downtimes in the future. As well, during my visits with investors in Toronto, I will be presenting the U-PIE server network plan. These investors will be able to comment and also share their suggestions on the idea. Our previous hosting provider Registerfly seems to have let their quality of service slip down the drain. U-PIE was hosted on a VPS server, and from the admin account I could see that there was a problem with over usage of ram (not on my part). Despite 10’s of support tickets, numerous phone calls and general complaints, very little had been done since the weekend on their part to fix the server problem. Therefore, as of this morning, U-PIE is no longer hosted with registerfly and we have moved over to a new hosting service. The website should now be up and running full time and we won’t be disrupted by such annoyances as we have been experiencing for the past week. I apologize for the troubles our hosting has been having and hope that it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience for everyone. ***Christmas Payout Schedule*** I have just been discussing the U-PIE Christmas payout schedule with my stock traders. As anyone active with stock trading knows, the Christmas period is typically rather slow and boring, however such a time can also prove very profitable. Though the traders do wish to take some time off to spend with their families, and the markets are closed for a few days they have agreed to the following U-PIE Christmas Schedule. U-PIE Update http://www.unitedprivateinvestmententerprise.com January 14th, 2006 In This Update - New server - Forum Move - Site Troubles ***New Server*** Prior to this past Thursday, it was becoming more and more evident that U-PIE’s web hosting server was far too slow to handle our daily level of traffic. On Thursday we transferred to a new much more powerful server to accommodate our regular traffic. Since this move, you have likely noticed that the loading time for U-PIE has improved significantly. The new hosting service will be very helpful to U-PIE users in the future with faster loading speeds for the entire website. In addition, advertising banners will load at a faster rate, which will be helpful for members using the referral program. ***Forum Move*** During the process of the server move, it was determined that the U-PIE forum was presenting a security vulnerability to the rest of the U-Pie website. Therefore, in the interest of website and database security, the forum was quickly removed. In order to protect the website, we will be uploading the forum to an alternate location. This is currently underway and I will add a link to the new forum location when it is complete. ***Site Troubles*** Upon removing the forum, it appeared that a portion of the website relied on the forum to function properly. As the majority of you will have noticed, there are a few errors which have presented themselves in the website. I will list the current known troubles below. Member Signup Problem - When a member signed up, they were presented with an error message. The programmer has just informed me that this has been fixed. My Profile page not appearing - The my profile page currently shows an error. This will be corrected soon. Multiple Interest Payments - Friday was a great day in the trading department, and the payment was 4.68%. However, it wasn’t as great as some member accounts are showing. Many members have reported that they have been paid 2 or 3 times on Friday. Tomorrow, the programmer will be reversing this, and insuring that every account was credited with only 4.68%. If you have already made a withdrawal request of this exorbitant profit, it will be cancelled and corrected. Other than those three above errors, the site is working fine. The programmer has informed me that things should be entirely back to normal sometime tomorrow.
