Creating Wealth The 8 Myths About Creating Wealth You have probably read or heard about various myths (these are the truths that are valid only for certain cases, but not in general) surrounding wealth and wealthy people, all of which hinder your quest for financial independence. Here are the most common and most destructive: Myth No. 1: How much you earn depends on how hard you work If this were true, then the physical, blue-collar workers, who have been working hard for years, would have been the wealthiest people on earth. Of course, this isn't true. They form most of the workforce and the vast majority of the middle-class. If you witnessed your parents coming home tired from a long day's work in your youth, you probably learned that money wasn't a sufficient reward for all that effort. People who work "just" for the money often have debts because they comfort themselves with whatever they can buy, beautiful things they lack when working. Myth No. 2: Being paid for something you enjoy isn't work and you shouldn't ask for money for doing something that is enjoyable. Check this with millionaires. They all have so much money that they don't need to work anymore. Nevertheless, they work for other reasons, challenge, satisfaction, fullness of life, activity, fun ... and all are connected to a love for their work. If there was no joy in doing a certain task, they would do something else that would make them much happier and that enables them to realize their dreams. In fact, if you don't enjoy your work, you will never become wealthy doing it! However, just because you enjoy your work doesn't mean you shouldn't get paid for it - in fact, that is the ultimate goal, to get paid for what you already enjoy so it never feels like you are at work! Myth No. 3: You need to be in the right line of business to amass wealth Do you think so? This must mean that all the people who are involved in the same business are millionaires. Of course, this isn't true. In each business there are winners and losers; winners abound, even in businesses that consist of distasteful (to most) or "impossible" work like sweeping the streets, collecting the trash, working in a factory, pumping gas, selling newspapers, etc. On the other hand, there are just as many "losers" in businesses like selling real estate, management or being a stockbroker. Myth No. 4: You need the right education to make a fortune Are the most educated people really the wealthiest? Not at all! In this case, university professors would be the wealthiest people on earth. Ask them about their salaries, if you get the opportunity. The truth is vastly different - the wealthiest people are those who can convert their knowledge (or education) into money, in the best possible way. They can be highly educated people (like inventors, scientists, etc.) or almost ignorant. Being formally uneducated does not equate to poor performance on the job or the inability to form a strong enough vision to carry a person to success - they can easily be experts without having a formal education. Myth No. 5: It used to be easier Statistics show an increase in the number of millionaires in the world every year. Talking about the "good old times" only offers comfort and a convenient excuse. If you look around, you'll see there are people who behaved the same way in the "good old times" as they do now, yet their success has been recent. With technology and progress come new ideas, desires and needs and there are more business opportunities appearing daily to serve them. Myth No. 6: I'm too old (young) If you research the life stories of some of the most successful people, you'll see that this isn't true at all. Some became wealthy early in their lives (perhaps from the stock market), while others found their fortune in their old age. Ray Kroc, was more than fifty years old when he bought and made the first McDonald's. Myth No. 7: I don't have enough money to start. You have to spend money to make money. This is no different from any other excuse or "myth." Like the others, it's obvious this one isn't true either. Many have made their fortunes starting from scratch, living in an apartment or working out of their garage and yet, they developed business empires that are worth billions of dollars today. The other elements of success are far more important than having seed money to start a business. But yes, often money helps and it certainly doesn't hurt. Like everything else discussed in other myths: it probably helps, but it is not always necessary. Myth No. 8: I'll begin when I know everything Do you believe that you will know everything someday? Or even that you'll know enough to ever be "really prepared now?" The more you learn, the more you see what you still need to learn. Success and obtaining wealth is a dynamic process. Even if you "could" come out of the gate knowing everything there is to know, some of those elements will change immediately and many will change rapidly. If you don't decide now, nothing will happen. Live and learn. Some millionaires have even allowed themselves to go bankrupt and then (even faster) recreated their wealth, sometimes even greater than before. Money itself isn't the obstacle that is keeping you from being wealthy. If you're really good in your business, don't worry, because someone that will offer you money (a bank or business partner) will appear who will appreciate your talent knowing you are a very good investment opportunity. But you can't sit around waiting for this - make it happen. Exercise "taking action" as much as you can. Make your workplace better or more efficient. After all, even if someone else signs your paycheck, you really work for you. Even if you are an employee in a large corporation - it isn't your corporation - but it is the only corporation through which you can prove what you are capable of right now. All of us have what it takes to become a millionaire! Born winners, yet few of us know how to take advantage of and cultivate the possibilities hidden inside our own mind! No one can ever grant you greater potential than your heart already holds…you need only discover its contents to find the one true path to your success in life. Born with the seeds to our success, the greatest decisions must always come from the inside! You will discover a new, deep well of fortune – yourself! |

9 Steps To An Abundant Life Find out how to live an abundant life... Many of us are bowed down by life – stressed, short of time, tired, on a treadmill, knowing that this isn’t the way to live, but not knowing how to free ourselves up to live more fully, to live an abundant life. There are simple things we can do – they don’t take time or money – they take a change of attitude. 9 Steps To An Abundant Life: 1. Being totally financially honest – if you are not, this implies that there is not enough for you to have everything you need without dishonesty. 2. Creating a vacuum so that more good things can flow into it – don’t fill your life up with things you don’t really want. Ask yourself if you want each thing before you buy it. Don’t have abundant rubbish, live an abundant life by seeking out the things and experiences that work for you in your core being. 3. Tithing is often associated with religion, but it is also possible to tithe in a non-religious context. This seems a really important aspect of living abundantly – every time you freely give money away, you are implying that you are confident that more will come – this is a BIG positive affirmation with a lot of power behind it. The traditional amount is 10% of your income. I’ve recommended this to lots of people, and they’ve told me that when they do this – magically - they seem to have more. I started with 10% but now I’ve increased it, because I’ve seen that the more I give away the more I get back, and the happier and more abundantly I live. 4. Being grateful for what you already have – focusing on the good that is already in your life. It’s easy to think about what you don’t have, but spend some time each day thinking about what you do have. Start each day by thinking of 5 things that you are grateful for – and express this out loud. 5. Resentment, jealousy, envy and self-pity interfere with the free-flow of abundance. If you are jealous or envious of someone, it implies that what they have is not available for you to have also. If you find it difficult to let go of these feelings, Bach flower remedies may help. Try the remedy ‘willow’ to counteract resentment and self-pity, or try ‘holly’ for envy, jealousy and greed. 6. Forgiving those that have wronged you is part of living an abundant life. Holding on to your anger, however justifiable it may seem, keeps you stuck in the past, rather than going forward into a better future. If it’s difficult to let go of your negative feelings, try writing a letter expressing all your anger, hurt or envy. Write until you can write no more, and then burn it. 7. Being able to receive from other people. Being able to receive is healthy, but many people find it difficult. You may need to practice receiving. Think of the pleasure you get in giving. By not receiving generously you are denying other people the pleasure of giving. 8. Realize that in general ‘good luck’ plays a very small part in people’s life. (If you put your faith in good luck, then you have to accept the possibility of bad luck, too.) People who put their faith in ‘good luck’ often spend their lives waiting for things to happen. People who don’t believe in luck go out and make things happen. 9. Believing that there is enough money, food, love, etc. in the world to meet everyone’s needs to live abundantly. I left this one till last, because it can be very hard to believe when faced with war and starvation in the newspapers and on the TV, but a lot of this anger and need is caused because people who have do not believe they have enough, because they substitute money and food for all the other abundance of life. Do your bit to correct that imbalance and start living a life that recognizes there are inequalities and shortages, but recognizes that we can correct that so we all have what we need. It is certainly not money as many people have been falsely led to believe. Instead, time is life. Time is opportunity. At birth, everyone is granted a lifetime of time. Circumstances often demand so much of that time that little is left over for each individual. And yet, when time ends, there is no chance to get it back. Each second of time is precious. The more you are aware of that, the more likely you'll be never to waste your time. Unlike other resources, it is non-renewable, available in limited quantities, and substitutes are not possible. A key to maximizing your time in this life, on this planet is planning. Free time all by itself is hardly a blessing unless you know what you'll do with it. And when you do know, you soon comprehend that time is far more valuable than money, so much so that it's a disservice to time -- and to yourself -- to equate it with money. Time allows you to partake of the lush benefits of the other best things in life. Without it, you are deprived of what they bestow upon you. With it, you can revel in their abundance. |

1. Accept the Unchangeable - Everything that has happened in your life to this minute is unchangeable. It's history. The greatest waste of energy is in looking back at missed opportunities, lamenting past events, grudge collecting, getting even, harboring ill will, and any vengeful thinking. Success is the only acceptable form of revenge. By forgiving your trespassers, you become free to concentrate on going forward with your life and succeeding in spite of your detractors. You will live a rewarding and fulfilling life. Your enemies, on the other hand, will forever wonder how you went on to become so successful without them and in the shadow of their doubts. 2. Change the Changeable - What you can change is your reaction to what others say and do. And you can control your own thoughts and actions by dwelling on desired results instead of the penalties of failure. The only real control you have in life is that of your immediate thought and action. Since most of what we do is a reflex, subconscious habit, it is wise not to act on emotional impulse. In personal relations, it is better to wait a moment until reason has the opportunity to compete with your emotions. 3. Avoid the Unacceptable - Go out of your way to get out of the way of potentially dangerous behaviors and environments. When people tailgate you on the freeway, change lanes. If they follow you at night, drive to a well-lighted public place. When there are loud, obnoxious people next to you at a restaurant or club, change tables, or locations. Also, be cautious of personal relationships developed via the Internet. With the massive number of individuals surfing the net, the number of predators increases in like proportion. Always be on the alert for potentially dangerous situations involving your health, personal safety, financial speculation and emotional relationships. |
|
Step 1: See the world as an abundant, providing, friendly place. When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. When you see the world as abundant and friendly, your intentions are genuine possibilities. They will, in fact, become a certainty, because your world will be experienced from the higher frequencies. In this first step, you're receptive to a world that provides rather than restricts. You'll see a world that wants you to be successful and abundant, rather than one that conspires against you. Step 2: Affirm: I attract success and abundance into my life because that is who I am. This puts you into vibratory harmony with your Source. Your goal is to eliminate any distance between what you desire and that from which you pull it into your life. Abundance and success aren't out there waiting to show up for you. You are already it, and the Source can only provide you with what it is, and, consequently, what you are already. Step 3: Stay in an attitude of allowing. Resistance is disharmony between your desire for abundance and your beliefs about your ability or unworthiness. Allowing means a perfect alignment. An attitude of allowing means that you ignore efforts by others to dissuade you. It also means that you don't rely on your pervious ego-oriented beliefs about abundance being a part of or not a part of your life. In an attitude of allowing, all resistance in the form of thoughts of negativity or doubt are replaced with simply knowing that you and your Source are one and the same. Picture the abundance you desire freely flowing directly to you. Refuse to do anything or have any thought that compromises your alignment with Source. Step 4: Use your present moments to activate thoughts that are in harmony with the seven faces of intention [creativity, kindness, love, beauty, expansion, abundance, and peaceful receptivity]. The key phrase here is present moments. Notice right now, in this moment, if you're thinking that it's hopeless at this stage of your life to change the thoughts that comprise your belief system. Do you defeat yourself with thoughts of having had such a long life practicing affirmations of scarcity and creating resistance to your success and abundance that you don't have enough time left to counterbalance the thoughts that comprise your belief system? Make the choice to let go of that lifetime of beliefs, and begin activating thoughts rights now that allow you to feel good. Say I want to feel good whenever anyone tries to convince you that your desires are futile. Say I want to feel good when you're tempted to return to low energy thoughts of disharmony with intention. Eventually your present moments will activate thoughts that make you feel good, and this is an indicator that you're reconnecting to intention. Step 5: Initiate actions that support your feelings of abundance and success. Here, the key word is actions. I've been calling this acting as if or thinking from the end and acting that way. Put your body into a gear that pushes you toward abundance and feeling successful. Act on those passionate emotions as if the abundance and success you seek is already here. Speak to strangers with passion in your voice. Answer the telephone in an inspired way. Do a job interview from the place of confidence and joy. Read the books that mysteriously show up, and pay close attention to conversation that seem to indicate you're being called to something new. Step 6: Remember that your prosperity and success will benefit others, and that no one lacks abundance because you've opted for it. The supply is unlimited. The more you partake of the universal generosity, the more you'll have to share with others. In writing this book, wonderful abundance has flowed into my life in many ways. But even more significantly, book editors and graphic designers, the truck drivers who deliver the book, the auto workers who build the trucks, the farmers who feed the auto workers, and bookstore clerks… all receive abundance because I've followed my bliss and have written this book. Step 7: Monitor your emotions as a guidance system for your connection to the universal mind of intention. Strong emotions such as passion and bliss are indications that you're connected to Spirit, or inspired, if you will. When you're inspired, you activate dormant forces, and the abundance you seek in any form comes streaming into your life. When you're experiencing low-energy emotions of rage, anger, hatred, anxiety, despair, and the like, that's a clue that while your desires may be strong, they're completely out of sync with the field of intention. Remind yourself in these moments that you want to feel good, and see if you can activate a thought that supports your feeling good. Step 8: Become as generous to the world with your abundance as the field of intention is to you. Don't stop the flow of abundant energy by hoarding or owning what you receive. Keep it moving. Use your prosperity in the service of others, and for causes greater than your ego. The more you practice detachment, the more you'll stay in vibratory harmony with the all-giving Source of everything. Step 9: Devote the necessary time to meditate on the Spirit within as the source of your success and abundance. There's no substitute for the practice of meditation. This is particularly relevant with abundance. You must have an understanding that your consciousness of the presence is your supply. By repeating the sound as a mantra, you're using a technique for manifesting as ancient as recorded history. I am particularly drawn to the form of meditation called Japa. I know it works. Step 10: Develop an attitude of gratitude for all that manifests into your life. Be thankful and filled with awe and appreciation, even if what you desire hasn't arrived yet. Even the darkest days of your life are to be looked on with gratitude. Everything coming from Source is on purpose. Be thankful while empowering your reconnection to that form from which you and everything else originated. . . . |

Every election year we have a remarkable opportunity to make things better. And those of us who take the time to vote help make some serious decisions in this country. Now stick with me here, I know this isn't an election year, but with all of the political unrest in our country and the world, it gives you pause to stop and think. Right now the word we hear over and over again is leadership - who is better at it; who has the better plans; and who can assemble the masses and try to reach some agreement on how to progress. Leadership is critical at every level of business as well as government. John Brock, who teaches leadership classes at the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University, shared a list of thirteen principles of leadership he adapted from the United States Military Academy, and I think he's dead on. Can you identify these traits in your management? Could your management team win a re-election if business was structured that way? 1. Know yourself and seek self-improvement. 2. Be technically and tactically proficient. 3. Seek responsibility and take responsibility for your actions. 4. Make sound and timely decisions. 5. Set the example. 6. Know your employees and look out for their well-being. 7. Keep your employees well informed. 8. Develop a sense of responsibility in your subordinates. 9. Insure that the task is understood, supervised and accomplished. 10. Train your employees as a team. 11. Employ your team in accordance with its capabilities. 12. Set your priorities. 13. Take the initiative. What I like most about this list is its simplicity. It cuts through the doubletalk that so often disguises incompetence. It leaves little room for misinterpretation. You are either following the rules or you're failing as a leader. Case closed. Brock maintains that all great leaders have four common characteristics: bedrock principles, a moral compass, vision and the ability to form a consensus. I couldn't agree more. The minute you compromise your principles, you lose respect. That goes hand-in-hand with the moral compass, I think. Knowing and doing what is correct even when it may be unpopular or perhaps unprofitable requires a strong character. Keep your moral compass pointed straight ahead and you will never have to apologize for your actions. General Robert E. Lee, widely respected for his military and personal leadership, summed it up: "You have only always to do what is right. It will become easier by practice, and you enjoy in the midst of your trials the pleasure of an approving conscience." Vision is a little harder to acquire. I firmly believe it is an acquired skill. You can train yourself to see what's ahead and determine an appropriate response and plan of action. Consensus building used to be simpler, when competition wasn't as cutthroat and civility ruled. That's not the world we live in now, and the gauntlet has been thrown down. You need only look at the hostile political climate for a prime example of the difficulty in reaching agreement. But this trait, possibly more than the others, is what defines a leader. Dwight Eisenhower, who led our army and the country, advised, "You do not lead by hitting people over the head - that's assault, not leadership." Through example and information, finding common ground is a very rewarding accomplishment - a win-win situation for all. Consider the story of Christopher Columbus. His crew became discouraged and threatened rebellion as they searched for the New World. They wanted to turn back, citing their voyage a "fool's errand." Columbus was undeterred, but attempted to reach a compromise: If they would be patient and faithful for just three more days, he would agree to abandon the search unless they had discovered land. From history, you know how that story ended. I'm adding one more trait that I find central to leadership, the ability to maintain your perspective. I remember hearing the story of how the Roman emperors handled Roman generals returning victorious from battles. The generals were welcomed in grand parades that featured their soldiers, all the wealth they acquired, and the prisoners they captured. Accompanying the generals in their golden chariots was a slave, who in the midst of the celebrations would whisper in the generals' ear, "Remember, you are a mortal man, all glory is fleeting." Mackay's Moral: True leadership must exist for the benefit of the followers, not the enrichment of the leaders. |

Prosperity is the experience of having plenty of what we truly need and want in life, material and otherwise. |
| The world is awash in money! Do you hear what that means? It is awash in money. It is flowing for everyone. It is like Niagara Falls. And most of you are showing up with your teaspoons. |
|
If, now, there is something you choose to experience in your life, do not 'want' it -- choose it. Do you choose success in worldly terms? Do you choose more money? Good. Then choose it. Really. Fully. Not half-heartedly. |
| A world of abundance surrounds you, if only you will step up and claim it. Make life happen through you rather than letting it happen to you. It will make all the difference in the world. |
| You are not powerless about anything. When you get a vision and then find alignment with it, you ARE powerful. And then amazing things begin to happen around you... |
| Few things in the world are more powerful than a positive push - a smile. A word of optimism and hope, a 'you can do it!' when things are tough. |
| Excellence is not a destination; it is a continuous journey that never ends. |

One of the first things successful people realize is the old adage, "if it is to be, it is up to me." That is, for you, the fact that your success and your course is up to you. This doesn't mean that you do it all alone. It simply means that you take responsibility for your life and your career. Too many people today look at opportunity and figure it is up to someone else to make sure they get it. They look at financial security and hope that the government will make sure they live safely in retirement or in case of disability. They wait and wait, figuring that it is up to someone else. And then the wait is over, and it is too late to do anything. Their life is over and they are filled with regret. This isn't true for you however. You know that you must take responsibility for your life. It is up to you. The fact is that nobody else is going to do it for you. You must do it yourself. Now, some people may say, "Jim, that's a lot of responsibility." Friends, that is the best news you can ever hear. You get to choose your life. Hundreds of millions of people all around this world would give anything to live in the situation you do just for the chance to have the opportunity to take control of their destiny. "It is up to you" is a great blessing! Here's why: 1. You get to chart your own destiny. Maybe you want to start a small business and stay there. That's great because you can choose that. Maybe you want to create a small chain of stores. Maybe you want to have a net worth of $100 million. That's okay too. The idea is that you get to choose. You can do whatever you like. Different people have different dreams and they should live them accordingly. 2. You can reap what you sow. Sleep in and go to work late and reap the return. Or get up early and outwork the others and earn a greater return. Place your capital at risk and earn a return or place it at greater risk and perhaps reap a greater return. You decide what you will sow and thus what you will reap. 3. No one else can stop you from getting your dream. Yes, there will always be things that come up and people who may not like what you are doing, but you can just move on and chart your own course. There is great freedom in that. 4. You experience the joy of self-determination. There is no greater pride than knowing you set your mind on something and accomplished it. Those who live with a victim mentality never get to experience the joy of accomplishment because they are always waiting for someone else to come to the rescue. Those who take responsibility get to live the joy of seeing a job well done. Let me ask you a question: Where will you be in 5 years? 10 years? Or 25 years? Do you know? Do you have an idea? Have you ever dreamed about it or set a goal for it? Are you willing to take responsibility and recognize that, "It is up to you?" You will be wherever you decide to be in those timeframes. You decide. It is up to you. And that is very exciting! To Your Success, Jim Rohn |

What makes one person rush forward, eager to experience the world, while another holds back? Personality. Unraveling the mysteries of your behavior patterns can help you discover ways to enrich your life and relationships and work more effectively. Great minds have pondered the complexities of personality, temperament, and health for centuries. As far back as Hippocrates in 400 BC, theories of personality have been of interest to people who study human behavior. Forty years ago, doctors noted a link between personality and health, dubbing competitive, rushing, and angry types who often experienced heart problems as Type A personalities. Those with a more laidback style were designated Type B. A few years later, a California psychologist described typical behavior of cancer patients holding in negative feelings and anger and called people who exhibit these traits Type C personalities. Personality and temperament also affect how we perceive the world and get along with others. Therapists, leadership development gurus, and other professionals use type and temperament models to help people learn more about themselves, appreciate differences in others, and improve family and work relationships. One popular methodology is the Myers-Briggs classification. Myers-Briggs During the 1950s, Isabel Myers and Katheryn Briggs developed a method of personality identification based on Carl Jung's theory of psychological types. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator relies on a series of questions to determine which of 16 classifications best fits the respondent. The type patterns correlate with pairs of personality preferences:
Self-discovery "What's important is the self-discovery process," says author Linda V. Berens, PhD, director of the Temperament Research Institute, a professional training and organizational development company in Huntington Beach, California. "Most people find value in learning their [personality] type because it helps them acknowledge they are okay." Many find that acceptance energizing. In addition, knowledge of predominant patterns gives people the ability to call on nondominant characteristics. Berens explains: "In my experience, it works out best to lead with your preferences and work out the others," she says. "You have to use them all, not just your preferences." Myers-Briggs in Practice "We've found that most effective leaders use all 16 personality types based on the needs of the situation," says Peter Hammerschmidt, PhD, a professor at Eckerd College Leadership Development Institute in St. Petersburg, Florida. Once students understand the traits, he helps them learn to move in and out of all 16 types as needed. "When we're not aware, we move toward what makes us comfortable, not necessarily effective," Hammerschmidt explains. Everything is in a constant state of movement. Inanimate objects aren't really inanimate. Even the walls around you are moving. They are just vibrating at such a rapid speed they appear to be solid. Nothing stays the same. And fear of change is not going to do you any good. It only holds you back from "possibility." Think about that for a second…if you are concentrating on your fear of change, and hoping everything stays as it is (your job, your marriage, your children, your finances), how can you be a joyful part of the transformation to a higher state of existence? You can't. Change is like to surfing. You can't just paddle into life, stand still and expect to stay on top of your board. The waves of change will knock you off and drag you under. You have to shift on your surfboard, bend your knees and balance yourself, depending on which way the waves take you. Some people even think changes are fun! You are where you are because you want to be there. If you want to be somewhere else, you'll need to change. |

If you have read my articles or heard me speak, you know that I always come down to action. We need to act if we are going to be successful! Yet, our success starts long before our actions. In fact, our success begins in our thoughts. The process is that thoughts become actions and actions produce results. So the equation starts with the thoughts. So the key to success is to start with and control the thoughts that we have. Good thoughts become good actions become good results. But there is this predicament we have as humans. It is this "battle" we have with our thoughts. Thoughts of depression, negative thoughts, thoughts of fear etc constantly creep into our minds and cause us to act in certain ways that are going to produce the antithesis of the kind we want that will produce success. So what can we do to win the battle with thoughts? Here are a few main points. Apply these immediately and then constantly and you will be on your way to winning the thought battle. Guard your mind. Pretend that behind that forehead of yours is a very precious thing – your mind – because it is precious. If you had a storehouse of gold in your house, you would hire an armed guard to stand watch and keep all the bad guys out. Yet, many of us let any old ting come into our minds. We need to keep the bad thoughts, the negative thoughts O-U-T! Now when I say this, I mean both the ones that start in our heads and the ones that come from external sources. Proactively place good thoughts in your head. Just like a garden, where you weed, or pull the bad stuff out, and plant, put the good stuff in, so we do the same thing with our thoughts. Buy tapes and music that will produce good, happy thoughts in your head! Watch TV programs and videos that put good thoughts in your head! Avoid the naysayers. They are all around you. You work with them, you live near them – some are even in your family! Whatever you do, do not let them affect you with their negative thoughts. Spend as little time as you can with them (unless it is your spouse or kids – then you need counseling!) Act on the positive thoughts that you do have. When a positive thought comes into your head, act on it! This will begin to produce a "bridge" between what you think and how you act! This will then make that transition even easier as time goes by! Four key ideas to win the thought battle: Guard your mind. Proactively place good thoughts in your head. Avoid the naysayers. Act on the positive thoughts that you do have. Go forth and Win the Battle! |

Certain people give off positive energy, others negative. It's the quality of someone's being, a measure of love with which they've led their lives. It also reflects the inner work they've done, their efforts to heal anger, hatred, or self-loathing, which poison us like toxic fumes. Energetically these linger, precluding joy from shining through. It's important to grasp, however, that once you undertake the process of healing, it changes the quality of even the negativity that remains. Don't be too hard on yourself-we're all works in progress. SIGNS OF POSITIVE ENERGY IN PEOPLE + They exude an inviting sense of heart, compassion, and support. + You intuitively feel safe, relaxed, wanting to get closer. + They emanate a peaceful glow. + You feel better around them. Your energy and optimism increase. SIGNS OF NEGATIVE ENERGY IN PEOPLE + You experience a sense of being demeaned, constricted, or attacked + You intuitively feel unsafe, tense, or on guard. + You sense prickly, off-putting vibes. You can't wait to get away from them. + Your energy starts to fizzle. You may feel beleaguered or ill. I'm a big fan of being proactive in generating positive energy. The First ************'s formula for success: Do whatever makes your inner light burn brighter. In other words, try to treat yourself and everyone else with love. It's a constant process of tuning in: finding people who support your spirit, trusting your gut-centered decisions to guide you. Then you won't end up in a relationship that looks right but feels wrong. Or miss the chance to meet a loving man or woman because he or she doesn't fit some preconception. When you're with trying people, aim for the high road; find common ground, rather than inflame negativity. The care with which you approach life is intuitively evident in your energy field. We can feel each other's love: that's the great attraction. Spread openheartedness around. |

You are your most important critic. There is no opinion so vitally important to your well being as the opinion you have of yourself. As you read this you’re talking to yourself right now. “Let’s see if I understand what he means by that… How does that compare with my experiences? – I’ll make note of that – try that tomorrow – I already knew that… I already do that.” I believe this self-talk, this psycholinguistics or language of the mind can be controlled to work for us, especially in the building of self-confidence and creativity. We’re all talking to ourselves every moment of our lives, except during certain portions of our sleeping cycle. We’re seldom even aware that we’re doing it. We all have a running commentary in our heads on events and our reactions to them. • Be aware of the silent conversation you have with yourself. Are you a nurturing coach or a critic? Do you reinforce your own success or negate it? Are you comfortable saying to yourself, “That’s more like it”. “Now we’re in the groove.” “Things are working out well.” “I am reaching my financial goals.” “I’ll do it better next time.” • When winners fail, they view it as a temporary inconvenience, a learning experience, an isolated event, and a stepping-stone instead of a stumbling block. • When winners succeed, they reinforce that success, by feeling rewarded rather than guilty about the achievement and the applause. • When winners are paid a compliment, they simply respond: “Thank you.” They accept value graciously when it is paid. They pay value in their conversations with themselves and with other people. A mark of an individual with healthy self-esteem is the ability to spend time alone, without constantly needing other people around. Being comfortable and enjoying solitary time reveals inner peace and centering. People who constantly need stimulation or conversation with others are often a bit insecure and thus need to be propped up by the company of others. Always greet the people you meet with a smile. When introducing yourself in any new association, take the initiative to volunteer your own name first, clearly; and always extend your hand first, looking the person in the eyes when you speak. In your telephone communications at work or at home, answer the telephone pleasantly, immediately giving your own name to the caller, before you ask who is calling. Whenever you initiate a call, always give your own name up front, before you ask for the party you want and before you state your business. Leading with your own name underscores that a person of value is making the call. Don’t brag. People who trumpet their exploits and shout for service are actually calling for help. The showoffs, braggarts and blowhards are desperate for attention. Don’t tell your problems to people, unless they’re directly involved with the solutions. And don’t make excuses. Successful people seek those who look and sound like success. Always talk affirmatively about the progress you are trying to make. As we said earlier, find successful role models after whom you can pattern yourself. When you meet a mastermind, become a master mime, and learn all you can about how he or she succeeded. This is especially true with things you fear. Find someone who has conquered what you fear and learn from him or her. When you make a mistake in life, or get ridiculed or rejected, look at mistakes as detours on the road to success, and view ridicule as ignorance. After a rejection, take a look at your BAG. B is for Blessings. Things you are endowed with that you often take for granted like life itself, health, living in an abundant country, family, friends, career. A is for accomplishments. Think of the many things you are proud of that you have done so far. And G is for Goals. Think of your big dreams and plans for the future that motivate you. If you took your BAG – blessings, accomplishments and goals – to a party, and spread them on the floor, in comparison to all your friends and the people you admire, you’d take your own bag home, realizing that you have as much going for yourself as anyone else. Always view rejection as part of one performance, not as a turndown of the performer. And, enjoy those special meetings with yourself. Spend this Saturday doing something you really want to do. I don’t mean next month or someday. This Saturday enjoy being alive and being able to do it. You deserve it. There will never be another you. This Saturday will be spent. Why not spend at least one day a week on You! Action Idea: Go for one entire day and night without saying anything negative to yourself or to others. Make a game of it. If a friend or colleague catches you saying something negative, you must put ½ dollar in a drawer or container toward a dinner or evening out with that person. Do this for one month and see who has had to pay the most money toward the evening. |

On the path to creating 'prosperity', it is essential that we remember that financial wealth is merely one aspect of the energy of 'well being'. If we want to be magnetic to more financial wealth, we are well-advised to become energetically aligned with the wealth that is already flowing in our lives. 1) Look for evidence of current prosperity. 3) Honor it. 3) Invite more in. In short: the more you tell the Universe that you are already prosperous, the more prosperous you'll become. |
"I have said that people get rich by doing things in a certain way, and in order to do so, people must become able to think in a certain way.A couple of months ago, my friend TERESA ROMAIN of Access Abundance [ www.accessabundance.com ] wrote in my ezine, The Certain Way, about how Galileo changed the world by looking at things from a new perspective. By dropping the prevailing attitude that the sun revolved around the earth, he was able to see that the opposite was, in fact, the truth.
"A person’s way of doing things is the direct result of the way he thinks about things.
"To do things in the way you want to do them, you will have to acquire the ability to think the way you want to think. This is the first step toward getting rich.
"And to think what you want to think is to think TRUTH, regardless of appearances.
"The path that lies before you is one of unlimited abundance. And it begins by SEEING the abundance available all around you. What old beliefs, what old ways of looking, seeing, and perceiving do YOU need to cast off right now, my friend? If you find yourself "in the doldrums," how can you take a fresh look today and begin to see the abundance that surrounds YOU so that you are empowered — not becalmed and hopeless?
"As you begin to experience life through the new lens of abundance, you'll find that many of the problems you face today will simply disappear. As for the ones that remain, your relationship to them will have changed profoundly, empowering you to take actions that are congruent with and support abundance."

Learn how to make money and work for yourself by selling your ideas. Do you know how to make money? If you're like most of us, you've followed the road most traveled: school, internships, entry-level positions. You probably spend forty hours or more toiling behind a desk for a paycheck that barely covers your expenses. This may be an excellent way to make money for your boss or company, but who is making money for you? Wouldn't you rather be working for yourself? “Most of us were taught the wrong way to make money,” explains marketing strategist Stefanie Hartman. “Ninety-seven out of every one hundred people will go their entire lives without learning the right way to make money. The good news is that virtually anyone can be taught how to make six figures annually.” Hartman suggests that there are three strategies for making money: 1. Trade time for money. This is most likely the strategy you've employed up to this point. In this scenario, you work; they pay - barely. Most of us spend all of our time and energy making money for someone else instead of spending time with our friends and families. Even if we do manage to make a decent living, we hardly have the time to enjoy it. 2. Invest money for money. Do you have money to lose? Because the only way to make money by investing is if you can afford to risk losing your initial investment. Most of us can't, which is why only about 3% of the population are successfully using this strategy to make money. 3. Trade value for money. Using this strategy, people just like you are learning how to make money by selling their ideas. They're capitalizing on their own imaginations, and are spending next to nothing to get started. Do you want to work for yourself, make six figures, set your own hours and finally have time for your family? If you think you're ready to start making money for yourself, you want door number three. “Money is simply an exchange or reward for something,” says Hartman. “That something is either time or value. If value is your preference than your first step is to define your value. What do you have to give that will enrich another's life or business?” Everyone has value. Everyone has a special knack, a particular talent, or a wealth of knowledge not possessed by others. Maybe you know how to help people conquer their fears. Perhaps you are an expert at organizing, decorating, or fixing home appliances. The point is that you know something that you can teach to others; and people will gladly pay you to learn. “In real life we constantly trade information with our friends and family to help them out,” says Hartman. “So why not turn that into a business? Why not share your information with even more people, and make money in the process?” Hartman goes on to explain that it's pointless for us to struggle for years making money for someone else. “Wouldn't you love to make six figures a year from your couch or home office?” she asks. “Making money has nothing to do with age, formal education, gender or geography.” “Remember,” says Hartman, “everyone has value! Millions of people are using intellectual property marketing to make money for themselves. So can you.” |

Many times, we look at high achievers and assume they had a string of lucky breaks or made it without much effort. Usually, the opposite is true, and the so-called superstar had an incredibly rough time before he or she attained any lasting success. It may motivate you more toward your own goals to know that some of the most famous and well-known people in modern times had to overcome as difficult obstacles as anyone before they finally reached the top. It takes persistence and total commitment to your goals, but it's possible! You may not know the background of a certain laundry worker who earned sixty dollars a week at his job but had the burning desire to be a writer. His wife worked nights, and he spent nights and weekends typing manuscripts to send to publishers and agents. Each one was rejected with a form letter that gave him no assurance that his manuscripts had even been read. I've received a few of those special valentines myself through the years, and I can tell you first hand that they're not the greatest self-esteem builders. But finally, a warm, more personal rejection letter came in the mail to the laundry worker, stating that although his work was not good enough at this point to warrant publishing, he had promise as a writer and he should keep trying. The laundry worker forwarded two more manuscripts to the same friendly-yet-rejecting publisher over the next eighteen months, and as before, he struck out with both of them too. Finances got so tight for the young couple that they had to disconnect their telephone to pay for medicine for their baby. Feeling totally discouraged, he threw his latest manuscript into the garbage. His wife totally committed to his life goals and believing in his talent, took the manuscript out of the trash and sent it back to Doubleday, the publisher who had sent the friendly rejections. The book, titled Carrie, sold over five million copies, and as a movie, became one of the top-grossing films in 1976. The laundry worker, of course, was Stephen King. The main message - believe in your ability to turn obstacles into opportunities. Too often people try to storm their obstacles as if they're forts that need to be taken. It's better to step back and ask yourself: "Did I cause this obstacle by my own actions or lack of them? Did someone else cause this obstacle? Is this obstacle one that grew out of the natural progression of circumstances?" This last question may seem complex, but it holds a secret to the way you can set and reach your goals and achieve your destiny! |

In the investing world there is a number known as “beta”. Investopedia defines beta as follows: A measure of a security’s or portfolio’s volatility, or systematic risk, in comparison to the market as a whole. Also known as “beta coefficient.”The other day I was studying something entirely unrelated to personal finance when the concept of beta jumped into my head. Only this time, I wasn’t thinking of beta as relating to a stock, I was thinking of beta as it relates to how to manage your money. I’m not talking about a fund manager asking himself how to manage your money. I’m talking about you asking yourself that question. Notice the bolded part of the quote above: “you can think of beta as the tendency of a security’s returns to respond to swings in the market”. Let’s replace a few words and restate it: You can think of beta as the tendency of your finances to respond to swings in life.. What’s your personal beta? Nobody (well, almost nobody), wants a personal beta that deviates far from one. It causes stress on the job, at home, in your marriage, family, and other relationships. It can possibly keep you in a job you don’t want, doing something you don’t like, for people who treat you lousy. The best way to move your personal beta toward one is to set up a personal budget. A budget reduces risk in your personal finances. It smoothes your income and expenses, and decreases the height of the crest and depth of the trough in the financial waves that may bear down upon you. A budget is a benevolent dictator when it comes to how to manage your money. It is firm when it feels its power being taken from it, but it will also give you some slack - when asked politely. Did you notice the term “systematic risk” in the definition above? Let’s go into that a bit deeper with another definition: The risk inherent to the entire market or entire market segment. Also known as “un-diversifiable risk” or “market risk.” In order to apply this to your personal finance situation, we’ll alter the definition again slightly: The risk inherent to your finances or entire life. Also known as “un-budgetable risk” or “uncontrollable risk.” This is a fancy way of saying its the risk of living day to day. It’s the risk that will always be there no matter what you do. You’ll notice as you learn how to manage your money better and better that your personal beta does go down - it gets pretty darn close to one if you really work on it. You’ll notice an improvement from your former, volatile self. This is the unsystematic risk that has declined. It is also sometimes called “specific risk”. And it’s something particular to you, that can be taken care of if you learn how to manage your money a little better - bring things in a little tighter - pay a bit of heed to that benevolent dictator. However, even the best money managers cannot get rid of risk entirely. No matter how you manage your money, you will still be subjected to the systematic risk of life. You cannot reduce it. You cannot ignore it. Before you get down on yourself, or maybe even feel a bit depressed about this supposed risky situation that you live in, let me assure you of one thing: Unsystematic risk makes up the large, large, bulk of the stress you may feel when you’ve slacked on your money management. The systematic risk inherent in life is small - tiny - minute. When your personal beta is one, you are feeling good! Life is good! The grass is green! The sky is blue! On your side of the fence! The budget will show you how to manage your money. It will show you how to reduce your unsystematic risk to nothing. It will get your personal beta down to one. It is the solution to money management stress and worry. What’s your personal beta? |
'Strange as it may sound to you, money is attracted to people who are strong and powerful, respectful of it, and open to receiving it. I want you to think about this - this is something I firmly believe and have said time and time again: Money behaves and responds just like a person - nurture it, treat it well, and it will grow and flourish; treat it carelessly or with disrespect, and it will dwindle away to nothing. Quite simply, if you respect money and give it the attention it needs, it will respect you back.
Conversely, the emotions of shame, fear and anger cloud your financial judgment, take away your power over money. When these emotions determine your spending patterns or force you to deny or defy the truth about your money, they not only wreak havoc on your finances, they actually repel money from you.'

We who are in this race for riches, should be encouraged to know that this changed world in which we live is demanding new ideas, new ways of doing things, new leaders, new inventions, new methods of teaching, new methods of marketing, new books, new literature, new features for the radio, new ideas for moving pictures. Back of all this demand for new and better things, there is one quality which one must possess to win, and that is DEFINITENESS OF PURPOSE, the knowledge of what one wants, and a burning DESIRE to possess it. The business depression marked the death of one age, and the birth of another. This changed world requires practical dreamers who can, and will put their dreams into action. The practical dreamers have always been, and always will be the pattern-makers of civilization. We who desire to accumulate riches, should remember the real leaders of the world always have been men who harnessed, and put into practical use, the intangible, unseen forces of unborn opportunity, and have converted those forces, [or impulses of thought], into sky-scrapers, cities, factories, airplanes, automobiles, and every form of convenience that makes life more pleasant. Tolerance, and an open mind are practical necessities of the dreamer of today. Those who are afraid of new ideas are doomed before they start. Never has there been a time more favorable to pioneers than the present. True, there is no wild and woolly west to be conquered, as in the days of the Covered Wagon; but there is a vast business, financial, and industrial world to be remoulded and redirected along new and better lines. In planning to acquire your share of the riches, let no one influence you to scorn the dreamer. To win the big stakes in this changed world, you must catch the spirit of the great pioneers of the past, whose dreams have given to civilization all that it has of value, the spirit which serves as the life-blood of our own country-your opportunity and mine, to develop and market our talents. Let us not forget, Columbus dreamed of an Unknown world, staked his life on the existence of such a world, and discovered it! Copernicus, the great astronomer, dreamed of a multiplicity of worlds, and revealed them! No one denounced him as “impractical” after he had triumphed. Instead, the world worshipped at his shrine, thus proving once more that “SUCCESS REQUIRES NO APOLOGIES, FAILURE PERMITS NO ALIBIS.” If the thing you wish to do is right, and you believe in it, go ahead and do it! Put your dream across, and never mind what “they” say if you meet with temporary defeat, for “they,” perhaps, do not know that EVERY FAILURE BRINGS WITH IT THE SEED OF AN EQUIVALENT SUCCESS. |

For centuries money has been the pre-dominant focus of human activity. Before money came along humans bartered, but the concept of excess wealth, of being a millionaire is a new addition to our worldly pre-occupations. As far as millionaire knowledge is concerned we are all merely infants in the grand scheme of things and its this activity, this vast need to have enough money that will mature and refine to a point when everyone will know how to get their entitlement, their share. But why wait for this to happen? The source of entrepreneurial flair is creativity. Making something from nothing. Creating or uncovering value that didn't exist before. There's three things you should know about becoming wealthy quickly. Here they are. 1) Wealth is a numerical concept designed to assist in the trading of value. It sounds obvious but its your understanding of its nature that can help you see clearly. $1 million dollars is not made up of a single fat bill with a million printed on it. Its numerical and has a lowest common denominator. A cent. 1 billion cents is 1 million dollars. If you know how to get your hands on a single cent, then there in your capacity, you have the seed to make 1 billion cents. A cent is easy to get, so your work is immediately leveraged. Even $10 is an elementary amount of profit to achieve so your work of getting 1 billion cents, now becomes a matter of getting 100,000 ten dollar bills. Its not how much you can get your hands on that really matters. Whats important is how you got that quantity of numerical value, money. If you got it by working in your job for a single hour, then the prospects of time diminishes your possibilities of using leverage to make that million fast. Lets face it, that's what we all require. Speed is important because time is short and life is for living after all once the capital is safely in the bank. The source of entrepreneurial creativity is creation. Worked for money, money that has been assigned and credited to you for carrying out specified tasks on an hourly time scale, namely as you would typically fi |
